After admiring the skillful acting in
Zombieland, I decided to seek out some of the cast's other movies.
Adventureland is an adolescent (psuedo "coming-of-age") story that centers around a very familiar theme park. This may be local bias, but I really dig this movie.
The actors all do an admirable job and the plot never seems to veer off-topic even though the actors ad-lib some great stuff. The movie is a self-described "1980's period piece" and the wardrobe and soundtrack support that fact.
Even though some characters are shown in a less than flattering light, I enjoyed this movie and the individual performances.
I would recommend this movie to fans of the actors, fans of ribald or dark comedies, or fans of "1980's period pieces"...if those people exist.
